This umbilical cord clamp for puppies every breeder should have ready to hand at birth.
Although usually the bitch chews away the umbilical cord of her puppy, the breeder often has to help with removing the umbilical cord. It may be because the bitch is unable to chew off the umbilical cord due to her teeth or it is so overzealous that she chews too close to the navel.
When the umbilical cord is cut, you place this clamp on the stump end to avoid bleeding and so that no infectious agents can penetrate. After a few hours, the stump has dried to the point that no more bleeding occurs and you can remove the umbilical cord clamp again.
The umbilical cord clamp does not come in sterile packaging. You should disinfect it by boiling it in hot water first before you sue it.
