HEKA Egg Candler

The HEKA egg candler helps you to see if eggs are fertilized or not.

An indispensable tool in chicken farming, whether your hen is brooding or you having eggs in the Brinsea incubator. You can see after about 4 days, if there is an embryo growing or if the shell is damaged, because even the tiniest cracks are visible with the help of the egg candler, and then sort out the eggs accordingly.

How to recognise a fertilized egg? We recommend that you darken the room as much as possible beforehand. Now hold the egg candler below the larger end of the egg. Of course it takes a bit of practice, but usually the finest blood veins can be recognized early on. Unfertilized eggs are more even and you only see yolk. Are you unsure, leave the egg under the hen or in the incubator and candle again in a week. After day 16 you should refrain from candling.

The HEKA egg candler has a durable plastic housing with push-button and can be easily connected to the power outlet with the 1.5 m long cable. An E14 bulb (25 watts) is already included.
